Winter care guide for indoor plants

Image
By - Sana Saha It's winter season. I better take out the cosy bedsheets to keep myself warm throughout the season, but what about my plants? As the seasons change outside, so does our plant care routine indoors. Sharing some simple tips to help keep our houseplants alive during the long, dark winter months. Being outdoors with houseplants is an easy way to ease the winter blues.    Tip 1: Increasing the light  We rarely see the sun in winter, and it's because it sets earlier, is lower in the sky, and is often covered by clouds. Make sure houseplants get enough light during this time. Most plants will adapt to the change of seasons in their current location, while others may need to be moved closer to a light source, such as a  window, to receive more light. However, these problems shouldn't hinder our love for our little buddies. Thus, the following tips can help keep them healthy even during winter: Sunlight Aloe vera plants love the r...

Besides its spikes, which sometimes become intimidating, it has its charm, making it a great addition to any garden or indoor space.  About Cacti  Cacti are part of the succulent plant family, meaning they have thick and fleshy stems that can store water for them. Because of this, they can survive in an arid environment and are primarily found in North America, South America, Africa and the Middle East. Cacti have unique aesthetics as they have spines or thorns in their modified leaves, which prevent them from being eaten by herbivores and reduce water loss through transpiration.  Various Cactus have distinct appearances, some Saguaro Cactus, Barrel Cactus, Cholla Cactus, Queen of the Night and many more. Some of them even have medicina...

Gardening beautifies the surroundings in which we live and helps increase mental health and work productivity, improving student lives and most importantly improves environmental sustainability.  Gardens act as miniature ecosystems that help the local ecosystems by giving insects, birds, and other wildlife shelter and food. In today's world, with a high carbon footprint, gardening helps reduce carbon in the environment.  Did you know that most metropolitan cities' AQI is going down daily? It is noted that gardening, to a great extent, can mitigate climate change and help reduce the greenhouse effect.  Gardening also reduces stress...
